I GOT IN!!!

Well, guys, it's official...I got into FIDM! Woooohooooo! From my first post on this blog until now, it has been a journey pursuing this dream. It really has just begun, but I can't believe it's reality for me. Honestly, I'm kind of scared, shocked and incredibly excited! Thank you to all of you out there for being so supportive and encouraging! It has helped me a great deal! Please keep me and Ryan in your prayers as we look for jobs. That's the big contingency...we need to be able to afford living out there while I go to school. We're looking in San Francisco and L. A., so if you know of anything send me an email!

Kenley Arrested for Throwing a Cat!

For all you Project Runway viewers, remember Kenley Collins?! She was the really annoying one, with the annoying voice, but had great style and made cute clothes... Well, it's not really that surprising, but she went crazy on her boy friend and threw her CAT, three apples and her laptop computer at him! Seriously...check it out on Stylist's blog!

Borrow Designer Clothing

Every girl has had that moment where they've bought a dress for an event, spent a bit too much and never worn it again. It's the worst feeling! Maybe you've even done the dirty deed of buying a designer piece, worn it once and returned it...(ahem)...Well, now you don't have to worry about that again! Stylist recently wrote a post about Wear Today Gone Tomorrow, and I have to say, this company is genius! You can rent designer clothing by the week without worrying about late fees or due dates. When I say 'designer,' I mean "DESIGNER!' They have clothing from Alberta Feretti to Carolina Herrera to Fendi to Valentino!!! Here are some dresses I thought were cool...

Done and Done

Well, I'm finally done. I've submitted my admissions packet and what happens, happens. I owe all my friends and family a big, "THANK YOU!" This step is huge for me and I couldn't have done it without them! Read one to see images of my final project! For my FIDM admissions project I had to generate an imaginary business, choose a target audience and modify designs coming off the runway for this imaginary company. Some of the fashion sketches are a bit pixelated, but it'll have to do. I wouldn't say that my designs are super innovative by any means, they are just marketable, simple designs for this specific, imaginary company.

This process has shown me how out of practice you can become if you don't exercise your sketching skills. Dealing with my perfectionism was another hurdle too. So, I'm just glad I finished and turned it in regardless of whether or not it's 'cutting edge.'

I'll keep you all posted as to what happens next! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my blog and these images...

Best Lip Product EVER!

As mentioned in my last post, I've been on the hunt for a long-lasting lip stick/stain for a week. My best friend is getting married and the last thing she needs is to worry about is reapplying her lip color. As a bridesmaid, I'd say the same goes for me too. Well, I have found what I'm looking for times TEN! I spent about a half an hour in Ulta scrounging around looking at all of the options. Feeling overwhelmed, I saw Revlon had a buy one, get one free deal, and it quickly helped me narrow down my options. (I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy and I'm not going to pass up a steal like that)! I decided to take a chance on Revlon's ColorStay Overtime. It's a lip gloss/color duo. The color goes on smooth and dries fast, but gives you just enough time to get the color where you want it. The clear gloss doesn't taste the greatest, but it's not gummy at all.

I applied this product at 6:00 p.m. last night, ate dinner, drank water, washed my face, brushed my teeth, went to bed and woke up with the color still on my lips!!! It wasn't even blotchy! Granted, there wasn't any gloss, but there was the same beautiful color I applied last night!

BEST lip product I've ever tried! Not to mention they have 28 different colors! Most long-lasting lip products come in dark, ugly shades. Not this one! I've tried many different brands (Benefit, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Laura Mercier, MAC...)
