I Heart Stationary

byzantinebuttons_tinyprintsSomething that you may not know about me is that I love stationary and journals. I am an avid journaler and enjoy writing handwritten letters to friends and family. Thank you notes are a MUST in my family, so cute stationary is a necessity. There are times when I've had personalized stationary and times when I just go to Target and pick something cute out, but today I came across stationary from Tiny Prints that I'm in love with. Tiny Prints is a fantastic paper company that started with baby shower invites and announcements. Wedding Paper Divas, a wedding invitation supplier, is also owned by the same company. Anyhoo, they've come out with some fantastic stationary and right now shipping is $3.00 on select items. paintedpansies_tinyprints

Please Don't - Acid Wash Jeans Return

wardrobe650I plead with you world, please don't wear acid wash jeans. We've tried to forget the poor choices in the past, but unfortunately designers must have been drugged  and hypnotized by 80's lovin' crazies because we're seeing them again. Not to mention, they are charging $2,165.00 for a pair and SOLD OUT of them (Balmain).  Meaning, some of you out there have been drugged by these 80's loving crazies too. See the evidence...

Day of the week Undies

juicy-fruitOkay, how many of you girls (maybe boys...) had day of the week undies when you were six? I know I did. Well, Stella McCartney has come out with "Juicy Fruits," fruit of the day undies for grown women. (Too bad Juicy Couture didn't think of this.) I think it's pretty clever and nostalgic. See for yourself and let me know your thoughts! Monday, watermelon; Tuesday, strawberry; Wednesday, cherry; Thursday, pineapple; Friday, apple; Saturday, grapes.....Sunday, a record player? Weird....

Turquoise Eye Shadow

292x495_photo21528So, I'm wearing turquoise eye shadow today because I felt like having some fun and getting out of my routine of wearing pink of and gold. It is becoming a popular trend for summer and I'm glad because for so long wearing blues on your lids was very "80's" and out-of-date, especially if you added pink blush and lipstick. 156_largeturquoise-eye-shadowturquoise-eye-shadow2

Stylist Cassie Sawhill

cassie81I've started receiving a weekly newsletter from FIDM containing event information and news about successful alumni. There was an article about Cassie Sawhill a graduate of FIDM in 2003 who is now a successful stylist. I had always wondered how people got paid to dress up celebrities and whether or not that was a career you just fell into or that you worked toward. In her case, it has been something that she has worked toward and now owns her own business. It always seems to be the people that love vintage shopping and bargain bins that make the best stylists, and Cassie's story is seals the deal.

Working at J.Crew I felt like I was a good judge of what worked on people and what didn't, but I don't know if I'm creative enough to help people that have all sorts of unique styles achieve a specific look. Maybe it's because I don't see my wardrobe making huge fashion statements. I have a very basic, casual style, but who knows...

I just know that it would be fun to help people play dress up everyday, however, I'm sure it's not as glamorous as icassie8web2t sweb8eems - nothweb4ing ever is..web1
