Shapewear
/We've all heard of control-top pantie hose and Spanx, but people my age don't really wear pantie hose, and as for Spanx...they can be uncomfortable and hot. So if you're in the market for a slimming dress, pants or tanks you should check these places out.
Yummy Tummy came out with a line of tank tops that slim your mid section. They come in different lengths depending on your height and style. I actually have one of these, and it's pretty nice. It has cotton on top and bottom and then spandex the middle.
Also, I just saw on Stylist's blog that Shape Fx came out with some nice wide leg pants that also slim your waist. They look like really nice trousers that anyone would wear to work. Shape Fx also has a perfect, slimming black dress and even a gorgeous wedding dress if you're worried about your shape on your big day.
I'd also like to take this time to say, yes, I am 25 and I use shapewear. haha. There's nothing wrong with girl wanting make sure she looks her extra best. ;) Besides, almost every celebrity walking the red carpet wears Spanx.
Iconic Shoes
/Sorry, I haven't blogged in awhile...Ryan and I got our first puppy - a golden doodle named Wendy. She's quite a handful, but thankfully I have a group of family and friends that are helping us out as we adjust.
Anyhoo, I was singing this past Sunday with my friend Brian, and he had on some awesome gold and black high tops. It just got me thinking about some iconic shoes that have started some serious trends.
Some of them have made their way back already and some are coming back stronger next year. Chucks have been going strong for awhile now since rockers and indies have brought them back. Dr.Martens were featured on Sienna Miller in Nylon last month, and I'm sure they will be bigger this fall and into 2010. Jellies came back this summer and I'm sure we'll see them next year too. High tops are also going to be a lot bigger in 2010...
Here are some shoes that came to my mind when thinking of "iconic shoes." Am I missing any other shoe brand? Have you worn most of these? I've worn all but the Jordans. =)
Missing the Rain
/Gap Premium Denim
/You may have seen loads of advertisements lately for Gap Premium Denim. Let me tell ya, it's definitely all it's cracked up to be. I always buy Gap jeans, but I'm really liking these cuts of denim. I bought some premium skinny jeans a couple weeks ago and I love them. Polyvore.com held a contest for Gap called, "Born to..." I created a look that described what I'm born to do.
I said that I'm born to learn because that's exactly what I love doing every day. I love learning about God, fashion, people, music, art...you name it. It might be cheesy, but it's true. I used items that reminded me of college. Simple and comfortable.
