Magnifying Mirror

05A0562Another discovery I made while visiting my mom is how much better it is to use a lighted magnifying mirror when applying makeup! Though you may not like to see the details of your skin, it sure does help you see where you need to add more concealer or whether you have created a line with your foundation, etc. Click to keep reading... I always thought those mirrors were for older people that couldn't put on their eye makeup without their glasses or something. I'm sure it may help with that, but there is no reason a 20 something should not be using this tool!

TJ Maxx has loads of them for great prices!

Outlast Lipstain

cover-girl-outlast-lipstainsI just got back from a wonderful visit in Idaho with my family. One of the many perks of spending time with mom, aside from getting quality time and hugs, is rummaging around in her closet and drawers. She has such great taste in clothes, shoes and bags! I'll be sharing throughout the week some great hand-me-downs, but first I wanted to share with you a beauty product that I tried of hers - Cover Girl's Outlast Lipstain. Click to keep reading... It's FANtastic! If you are someone that hates the look of lipstick or intense pigment stains like Revlon's ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor, then you should try this product. It gives your lips a natural glow that lasts about four or five hours. Just put some clear gloss on over it or use it as a base to your lipstick so that when the lipstick comes off you still have some color to your pucker.

It works just like a marker, so it's easy to apply for those that are a bit uneasy about makeup. Just color in your lips and stay inside the lines.  :)

The color that I enjoy is called Wild Berry Wink, which gives me a raspberry stain. It even tastes like berry too! I'm sure if you wanted to try the red lip trend with this product your boyfriend or husband would actually like it this time around. Most guys say they don't like red lipstick because lips appear "unkissable." Well, here's a great solution!

You can find this product at any drugstore.

Stopping Traffic

_Device Memory_home_user_pictures_IMG00175Well, yesterday was a pretty eventful day. I was in the worst accident I have ever been in and could have lost my life. I woke up this morning wondering if yesterday's accident ever happened, and then we got a call from Geico saying my car is a total loss. Anyone have any car suggestions? ;) Click to keep reading about my accident... How did this all happen you wonder? Well, I was on my usual commute to downtown on the I-10 west bound and I was driving in the middle lane of the five lane freeway. All of the sudden I felt a collision and I started spinning in circles, round and round, and then thought to hit my breaks towards the end of the spin bracing myself for impact into the barrier. I ended up in the emergency lane facing west with traffic with not a single scratch on me or soreness from the seat belt. I was relieved and then I started crying. I couldn't get out of my car because my door had been smashed to pieces. Glass on my lap.

This sweet lady that had witnessed everything stopped, called 911 and made sure I wasn't hurt. After a couple of minutes police showed up, stopped rush hour traffic and helped me get to the other side of the freeway. The guy that hit me was driving a Roadrunner and ended up down the road on the right hand side. The witness had to leave for jury duty, but confirmed he changed lanes into me.

We had to pull off onto a side street from there with my bumper left behind on the freeway. The usual police report stuff happened and then a tow truck came and took sylvia away - Sylvia is my silver Toyota Carola. =)

I have no soreness from the accident for the most part. No bruising either. I am so blessed and grateful that I didn't get hurt or die. Things could have been a lot worse at such a busy time on the largest freeway in Arizona.
