Architectural Wedding Featured on Style Me Pretty

I have been waiting for months to finally squeal that a styled bridal shoot that I did in collaboration with Gina Meola Photography is on Style Me Pretty!!! AHHH!!!

Gina came to me wanting to do create a styled bridal shoot, and I pitched the idea of something architectural and modern. She loved it, and the project was born!

We had sooooo many talented people collaborating with us, and we couldn't have done it with out them!

In the meantime, I'll give you the details on the FASHION!

The love story is between an architect (groom) and an interior designer (bride). So, everything was kept VERY clean and minimalistic. Jason Jarvis had an amazing black suit and an enormous tie collection to pull from. He also had this CRAZY AMAZING tweed Dior jacket that I HAD to use because it's that awesome. The rest is history - we kept him timeless, chic and monochromatic.

Miss Gwen is a talented model from Agency Arizona, and of course, she looked amazing in everything. So, for her first look I wanted something very simple and pretty, so I selected a Claire Pettibone gown from Mariee Gallery. For her second look, we wanted something more architectural and structured. Ian Stuart was the perfect gown designer for the job, and Mariee Gallery is the only bridal salon in Arizona that carries his work.

I hope you LOVE LOVE LOVE the project!

Phoenix Fashion Week

Starting yesterday and continuing until Saturday night, the fashion community of Phoenix is coming together for Phoenix Fashion Week. It's a cool event just to see the emerging fashion designers in the area, and to see the community come together to celebrate our shared love for fashion.

I'll be dressing for runway shows all day today and Saturday, and hopefully tweeting some behind the scene pics.  Make sure to follow me on Twitter to see my updates.

If you don't have anything going on tonight or Saturday, check out the event!

Good Online Reads

Getting a magazine in the mail will always be a special thing for me, but I've also been enjoying a lot of online mags these days. I just get reminded that there are SOOOO many creatives in this world, and there is plenty of room for everyone to create. There's also a need for more magazines because all of this talent has to be communicated some how, right? Here are some of my favorites these days...AND they're FREE to read!!!

RUE - I love the combination of decor and fashion inspiration. It's very applicable to every day life, which can be very refreshing in the fashion world.

WE LIKE WE LOVE - A great magazine to see the up and comers in the photography, styling and fashion industry.

MATCHBOOK - This mag has a preppy flair, so it's like it's made just for me.

ATOMICA - This magazine is for the artist in me. The photography and styling that is featured in this magazine is gorgeous!

DUJOUR - Fashion, fashion, fashion! What else can I say?

ANTHOLOGY - Amazing home decor inspiration!!!

BETTY  - It's inspiration for the indie wannabe in me.

empowering read.

LONNY - More awesome home inspiration...Obviously, I can't get enough these days!

Notebook Girl

A little fact about me is that I'm a notebook girl. I started journaling regularly when I was 15, and I found it to be incredibly therapeutic since I'm a verbal processor and I didn't have siblings to mull over ideas and thoughts with. Since then I've always had a pad of paper near me to write down to-do lists, ideas, thoughts and just the random stuff you need paper for.

Picking out a little notebook is something that I always look forward to because I feel like the style or cover that I'm drawn to is a visual representation of the new season I'm about to embark on. Silly, yes, but it's just one of my sweet rare pleasures next to getting manicures or massages.

So, what I am I writing in now? A bright neon green notebook my friend Sarah got me for my birthday that says, "Designers I met and Liked." I'm definitely in that exploratory networking time , so it was perfect! =) There's a whole fun series of notebooks by Archie Grand Design like the one I have such as, "Models I met and liked," "Hipsters I met and liked," "Faux pas I made and liked," etc.

Here are some other ones I found...

I like the one on the left for the little remark about recording only on the sunny days! haha!

This middle notebook is great just because that's the season that I'm longing for most right now. I just feel drained of ideas at the moment.

And the little book on the left is just plain awesome!
