Matchy Matchy

I feel like most of us, when putting together outfits, avoid that "matchy matchy" vibe. We want it to look put together, but not so intentional that our shoes, lipstick, bag and nails all go together. But one trend I noticed browsing through street style pictures from fashion month was matching prints: same on the top, same on the bottom. This "matchy matchy" trend is definitely catching on for spring. matching4

I love designer Charlotte Olympia's matching blouse/pants paired with a long black coat.

ADR killing it in wide leg trousers and matching jacket, with an extra pop of color in the blouse.

Caroline Issa does the matching trend right with a textured coat layered on top

Wide leg tartan trousers and a matching tartan blazer-hard to pull off, but she does it perfectly!

Isabel Marant 2013

I think Isabel Marant is the one designer I truly want EVERY piece from. Everything that walks down the runway seems so wearable and easy. Marant's French-girl chic did not disappoint at Paris Fashion Week for 2013 RTW. We saw a lot of dark, layered pieces combined with boots we're already coveting for next fall. isabel-marant4

The Block Heel

The sturdy, block heeled trend has made its way through the past few seasons, and is ready to be busted out again in time for spring. Major designer brands such as Chloe and Valentino have created some beautiful block heels, and the trend has been trickling down through mass retailers. Here are a few of my favorite options for trying the block heel trend: Sam Edelman's "Trina" sandal, which features a low, metallic heel, combining the kitten and block heel trend into one!

These shoes from Topshop also have a metallic heel, and are a great alternative to a boring, nude pump!

I love these block heels by Kelsi Dagger, also these two tone heels that seem comfortable to walk in while still giving a lot of height.

These pumps by Dolce Vita are my favorite pick for summer, I love the bright yellow strap mixed with the gold heel.

Aly's Senior Styling Session

Oh, to be a high school senior again...The anticipation of leaving your family and starting to pursue your God-given dreams is such a sweet time. I loved my senior year of high school, and I especially loved getting my senior photos taken. Aly-6 (1)

I was really honored to work with Aly, and help her create some fun outfits for her senior pictures. She is such a creative and joyful person that loves to express herself by mixing fun patterns, putting skirts over dresses and just experimenting with things in her closet. Together we came up with some eclectic looks that give the vibe of Free People.

Check out these beautiful photos from Session Nine. They took Aly up North to Flagstaff and used the snow to make the coolest backdrop. I think her outfits standout all of the more with the blanket of snow.

Oscar Fashion

Award season gives us a lot to talk about, and our favorite subjects are the dresses. At the Oscars Sunday night, the stars put their best foot forward. I felt pretty neutral towards the dresses this year; no ones outfit particularly wowed or disgusted me. A few ladies did stick out in striking, perfect-for-award-show outfits. Here are my top 3 choices for best dressed at the Oscars: 1. Jessica Chastain: Although she didn't win for Best Actress, I thought Jessica Chastain's red hair and sparkling Armani Prive gown went together perfectly.

2. Charlize Theron: Drop dead gorgeous in an all white gown from Dior Couture. Charlize Theron is just flawless all around, I loved her simple jewelry and super short hair!

3. Naomi Watts: Another stunning Armani Prive dress, I love the cut out detail. I think this was a perfect red carpet moment for her, sparkling and stunning!
