SJP Shoes

all-sjp-sarah-jessica-parker_header_01.jpg

Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the biggest style icons in the world thanks to her role as Carrie in Sex in the City. She will forever be associated with Manolo Blahnik and beautiful shoes. Well, now SJP has taken on the role of a lifetime as a fashion designer by creating a shoe collection exclusively sold at Nordstrom. I'm currently crushing on this strappy metallic pump. It's totally something that I would want to wear for a night out on the town.

SJP will actually be doing store appearances in her favorite cities (click here to see where). She is also guest pinning for Nordstrom this week sharing her favorite places to shop and eat. If I knew I had a chance to run into SJP I would totally go. So, check out her board and maybe you can stalk her at her favorite restaurant. You can even win an entire shoe wardrobe. Wrap Skirts

skirtblog.jpg

I love wrap skirts and dresses. Ever since my mom told me who Diane Von Furstenberg was and showed me her famous wrap dress I have been hooked. There is one problem with average wrap dress...It can come unwrapped easily. My guess is that most women probably don't want to show the world what's underneath their skirt or dress. I know I don't! skirtblog2

That's why I love this Free People wrap skirt I found at Frances. It has a short mini skirt underneath to make sure you don't see your undies. Plus, the design creates a sexy high-low illusion when you sit down or when the wind blows. Otherwise, it looks like a normal maxi skirt.

I paired this skirt with a simple black t-shirt, my H&M leather jacket and my new shoes from Lulus.com. For warmer days you can loose the jacket and add a hat to accessorize further.

I Heart Jumpers

jumper.jpg

A couple years ago jumpers and rompers made a return to the fashion scene. I remember everyone gasping and thinking, "Oh no! The 80's have made a complete return." You guys, I think it's safe to say that the 80's will never make a FULL comeback (phew). However, I am thankful to the 80's for the creation of leggings, fashion jumpsuits and the acceptance of big hair. And being more a fan of pants than skirts or dresses, I was pretty excited about the jumper's return and bought a Madewell one straight away (see old post here). Since then I've added a couple more to my closet. jumper3

I am REALLY loving this Free People jumper from Frances Vintage. It's made out of a VERY soft, breathable cotton. The crisscross straps and v-neckline are flattering for those that have fuller chests. I paired it with a black lace bralette also made by Free People and sold at Frances. Bralettes are made to be seen, offer incredible comfort and act more as a sports bra. I can actually do a hundred jumping jacks in this jumper. This outfit is THAT comfortable. Granted, I wouldn't recommend wearing heeled boots for that purpose, but style wise I loved wearing my ZARA boots with it.

Layer necklaces, add a hat or a denim jacket and you are set to go! If you are in the Phoenix area you can get the complete look at Frances. If not, get the look here: jumper, bralette and boots.

My Uniform

2005-01-20-15.47.14.jpg

Sometimes there are just days where you don't have time to think about your outfit. All you have time for is hopping in the shower, putting a touch of makeup on and making sure you aren't naked. If I'm really honest, there are even days when dry shampoo is such a lifesaver because I don't even have time for a shower. (That might be TMI, but what I can I say...It's true). On those days I rely on my uniform of a button down shirt, jeans and a great pair of shoes. It's classic, it's comfortable and it's stylish.

I highly recommend identifying an easy "uniform" for yourself. Maybe it's a couple day dresses that fit well...Or maybe it's a plain t-shirt and maxi skirt...Whatever it is just make sure you feel really confident when wearing it and it's easy to put together.

Pallet Project

paletterich.jpg

This weekend was spent with family and doing some home updates. Ryan and I decided to create a pallet herb garden inspired by Pinterest (see here). paletteprojectblog

My father-in-law is quite the handyman and helped us with the project. He sanded the pallets, stained them, hung them on our house...He pretty much did everything. haha. My house wouldn't look half as cool if it weren't for him.

Meanwhile, my mother-in-law kept my little one busy reading books to her and showing her the magic of Crayola. We are so thankful for them.

Once I put some plants in the pots I'll give the final reveal of our palette project.
