Call it wishful thinking, but I'm hoping to soon break out my long sleeve blouse and boot ensembles. Being covered head to toe can be a bit intimidating, especially in all black, but this lovely pin inspired me to embrace the off-the-shoulder trend this fall as a way of giving my eyes (and shoulders) some room to breathe. Off-the-shoulder tees and blouses have become practically as common on the streets as your average button down, so I'm happy to add it as a staple to my closet. Thigh high boots used to be reserved for superheroes and the super sexy, but I love adding a delicate ruffle to a sharper look to add a touch of femininity.

While the rest of the country will be breaking out their sweaters soon, us South-westerners have quite some time to wait until we can fully pile on the fall layers. (Although I do keep a denim jacket or light cardigan on hand most days because Arizona AC can be quite chilly.) For now, you can catch me continuing to wear summer dresses and sandals, not unlike the ensemble in this awesome pin. Slip dresses are a huge trend at the moment, and I love the idea of dressing down the sexiness of a nightwear inspired piece like this with denim and good ol' Birkenstocks. This slip would also look cute layered over a fitted ringer tee for another dressed down approach.

Autumn is right around the corner and my mind can't stop racing with fall fashion ideas. Recently, this pin of Lauren Nelson's flawlessly executed double denim look caught my eye. Double denim is one of those "love it or hate it" kinda trends. When done with care, I really do love the effortless, laid-back look it creates. If you're thinking about piling on the denim this fall, pay very close attention to hues. The key to pulling off double denim is to either go full on matchy-matchy, or completely contrasting. Notice how Lauren's jacket and jeans are the same true blue, but their rich hue contrasts the lighter blue oxford underneath. If you're still unsure about denim on denim, try wearing black denim paired with a very light washed denim. And if you're ready to dive in head first, get the whole look below for just $115!

Let's talk about culottes for a minute. Culottes are definitely on the adventurous side, but they can be a super chic statement piece for summer. I love how Amy from Fashion Jackson styled a light, breezy neutral ensemble using culottes in this popular pin. The boxy top paired with the pants makes for such a fun silhouette and the colors play very nicely together without being too plain. If culottes intimidate you, think of them like a flouncy midi skirt. Wear culottes with exactly what you'd wear if it was a midi skirt, but then bask in the glory of the fact that you're actually wearing pants... and can dance wildly and do ninja kicks, if you please. Pants are so freeing, are they not?

Dresses are fun, rompers are cute (although they usually ride up too short for my taste), but jumpsuits... jumpsuits are the COOLEST. Blogger Kat from With Love from Kat looks stunning in this periwinkle blue jumpsuit. I couldn't help but gravitate towards this image when it came across my Pinterest feed, and I love that she chose such a standout color for this strong ensemble. The periwinkle blue really pops thanks to the understated nude accessories and the fresh white mani is just the cherry on top. This jumpsuit looks great dressed up, but could easily be worn on a casual day out if paired with some strappy flat sandals and a tote.
