A Film from The Motion Workshop

Screen-Shot-2014-06-24-at-10.29.50-AM.png

This face! Isn't Madeleine Alexandra gorgeous?! She is a fashion blogger with insane style and taste. She also is a dancer and moves and models like a pro. Ale Vidal of Imaginale Design hired to me to create beautiful vignettes for her workshop attendees to capture in motion. There is so much to share! I will be sharing the art direction and styling process tomorrow, but I wanted to just focus on this moment - this film that Ale made.

There was a whole team behind this vignette, but yet it seems so simple. One dress, some flowers, great hair and makeup...The planning for this simple moment started several months ago. Ale wanted a high-fashion bride that embodied a sensual and haunting quality. It might be a weird request, but that girl knows what works for the camera.

I'm so happy I get to work with such talented people. Enjoy the film and come back tomorrow to see how I translated her vision for not only this shoot, but three other ones in ONE DAY!

Lone Flag Brand Video

I feel like I am presenting a baby to you today. I'm so excited and eager to tell you all about what I have been doing since I wrote about my big epiphany a couple of months ago when I worked on the desert rendezvous project (go back to read it here). Basically, I have been venturing into art direction and original content creation for brands. This is something that I plan to elaborate on in another blog post this week, but essentially, I have combined my worlds of styling and social media marketing to cultivate brand awareness through artful communication (i.e. well-styled, original content creation) for stylish brands. So, my dear friend Alejandra Vidal of Imaginale Design and I teamed up again to create a brand film for Lone Flag as part of a brand boost experience (motion and original content creation). Lone Flag is a curated retail concept and community space in Del Mar, CA dedicated to premium brands with a focus on American made goods and denim. We were so excited to get to help bring such a cool concept to life. So, without further delay, please enjoy our little film...

Part 2: Menswear "Falling" Shoot

The inspiration of this menswear shoot, in collaboration with photographer Alejandra Vidal and model Alex Lasheen, came from Robert Pattinson's Vanity Fair photo shoot. The debonair musician that Pattinson portrayed inspired Alejandra and Alex Lasheen, and then when they came to me with the concept I interpreted the idea to fit with the west coast relaxed menswear style. I also did this because instead of a piano we had a guitar, and our photo shoot location was in a gorgeous Phoenix home of Geoff Trachtenberg.

I gave Alex four looks with a couple variations on the looks. The outfits weren't complex at all. In fact, they were meant be simple and look accessible, as if this character woke up in the morning and just put his t-shirt and jeans on.

The truth is that sometimes a v-neck t-shirt and a great pair of jeans make the best looking outfit for a man, no?

Add a button down shirt, and then you have some more dimension.

Add a black blazer and then you're ready to go out on a date with a special someone.

When you're home relaxing maybe it's just a comfy cardigan over a henley. No fuss, all comfort and casual style.

A timeless classic is a white shirt and jeans. For the summer, a white linen shirt like this one is a great investment.

I hope you enjoyed the photo shoot. Don't forget to check out our awesome fashion video shared in yesterday's blog post.

Falling - Part 1

I am SOOOO HAPPY to share my first menswear photo shoot with all of you in collaboration with Alejandra Amador Vidal of Imaginale Design with model Alex Lasheen. It was Alex to the third power that's for sure. The title of this fashion shoot is "Falling." Once you see the video below you'll understand the title more.

Alejandra created these cool magazine layouts to showcase some of our favorite photos. More photos will be coming tomorrow, as well as my styling process and behind the scenes images.
