Boho Chic with Faux Fur

I've been on the hunt for a fabulous faux fur vest for years, and I've finally found one. This gray "Kya fur vest" from Tart Collections was just what I was looking for. It looks and feels expensive, and it's affordable. Cha-ching! The color creates enough contrast against my hair ensuring I don't look like a lion when I wear it. I love that this vest stops past the natural waist but doesn't cover my bottom; thus elongating my body and not letting me lose my shape completely.

Of course, this vest looks great with a simple long-sleeve top like this one above from Adea and jeans, but why not embrace the 70's bohemian chic fall trend and punch up the style with a maxi dress, maxi skirt or long gaucho pants? Top your outfit off with a great carpet bag like this one from Anthropologie.

If that's too wild for you, try wearing your faux fur vest with a long-sleeve shift dress such as this one from ZARA. The slight pattern on the dress resembles a paisley pattern you would have seen in the 70's, but the modern color palette and pairing with black booties keeps the outfit current.

What do you think of this boho chic fall trend? Do you dig it? Will you be buying a faux fur vest?

It's the best feeling to share projects that I have worked on and that have been published. Sometimes I have to wait months to share them with you, so when I finally have the green light it's like Christmas morning to me. Screen Shot 2013-06-01 at 11.53.31 AM

I recently collaborated with Mark Morgan and Stephanie Neiheisel to create a bohemian inspired photo shoot. With amazing modeling by Abrianna Coons with Jani Model Management, the character of this wild bohemian girl came to life. Sporting pieces such as over-the knee boots, a cut-off Ramones t-shirt, a spiked hat and a utility vest, Abrianna became a this tough girl with a laid back style.

w25 magazine was kind enough to publish this shoot. You can check out the spread here and also view some other really artistic projects.

Let me know what you think! Do you have an inner wild Crocodile Dundee style?

Starbucks the new fashion accessory?

dsquared24Apparently, DSquared2 feels that Starbucks is a great fashion accessory for the catwalk. Starbucks + Fashion = Count me in! I must say I love the styling for this show. Having Starbucks in a model's hand is brilliant because it automatically sends the message that they are catering to the "every day woman."  Though having Starbucks every day is expensive (ahem...Ryan) and most of these outfits are for the every day rock star/bohemian/Californian... dsqaureddsquared2dsquared6dsquared7dsquared8dsquared23dsquared25dsquared29
