To know me is to know that I’m always wearing some form of denim. It’s just the southwest girl in me. Dress it up or down, it’s what makes me feel most comfortable. But, just like anything, I can tire of the same old thing. I have dresses that I’ll throw on from time to time, but skirts? Yeah, that’s not really something I have much of. When I saw this cotton black skirt by Garnet Hill I was intrigued by it. There’s a casual quality to it that I love, but the asymmetric hem and the chicness of black made me see this skirt as much more than a regular cotton tube skirt.

So, I took a chance on it, and I’m loving it. I especially love wearing it with a cotton t-shirt and sneakers. It’s exactly what spring style is all about. The length is great as well because it’s modest for a woman in her mid-thirties, but the design is very fresh. You can also snag the skirt in gray.

Winter Velvet with Garnet Hill

07.JPG

My master bedroom got an update just in time for the holidays thanks to Garnet Hill. I finally have the best linen sheets on the planet to sleep in every night and the softest velvet green comforter to top it all off.

I have been wanting to try the tone on tone trend for a long time, and there is no color that I drool over more than emerald green. This comforter is high quality with a natural linen side as well. So, you really get two looks in one with this purchase.

If you’re looking for a bedroom refresh without redecorating the whole space, I definitely recommend just updating your linens. It makes a big impact without as much of an investment.

Upstairs Guest Room with Garnet Hill

It took me a whole year, but I finally got back into decorating spaces again. This guest room has been unfinished for a year since we moved Elle into the other room. It was time to finish nesting.

I had a different bed in here, but moved it downstairs when we divided furniture. I wanted another room for guests to sleep in, so I got this bed from Lamps Plus. Though I am a modern girl, I thought this bed was super cool. I was really impressed that they even carried bed frames.

I already had the BEST linen bedding from Garnet Hill. It has soft pink ticking stripes, so it really set the tone for what was coming next.

The wall was already painted black, and I had already experimented with pink and black for Elle's room. I knew I liked it, but when I saw this rug from Garnet Hill I knew this was the direction I wanted to go. It's STUNNING! I LOOOOOOOVE it. I have never loved a rug more. The quality is amazing.

Everything fell into place from there. I used a brass lamp I already had from Living Spaces, and wool stools from my bedroom. I also found the perfect spot for my great, great aunt's steamer trunks from the 1800s.

All in all, I could not be happier to have another beautiful room complete in my home. Now bring on the guests!
