Lovey Lake

There's nothing more sweet than a toddler in a cute skirt showing off her baby thighs. Elle is almost two, and I have to get as much of her chubby-leg cuteness while I can.

Lovey Lake is a cute little Esty shop that makes adorable jumpers, dresses and skirts for girls. I got to meet Leah Davidson, creator of Lovey Lake, when I spoke at Craft Culture a couple months ago. Out of the sweetness of her heart she sent me two skirts for Elle to try. They are perfect for this summer. She uses machine washable, breathable cotton fabric. I really love the metallic pocket that she added on to the striped skirt. Though I know Elle will outgrow her clothes quickly, I love that these patterns transcend seasons too.

Check out Lovey Lake if there's a cute little girl in your life that needs something special.

T-shirts & Skirts

In past seasons we have seen a trend of juxtaposing "hard and soft" by pairing leather with lace, studs with chiffon and so forth. Well, the trend of unusal pairings continues with casual t-shirts and refined skirts. Here are some examples...

I really like this trend and I hope it continues to carry through the seasons. I love the idea of t-shirts with silk pants, refined shorts and under suits.

What do you think?

Summer Lovin'

Summer is in full swing! In Arizona that's not something we really celebrate because it means 100 degree weather is a regular occurrence, BUT it also means new fashion trends and wardrobe additions to my closet. =) There are three main summer trends that I'm implementing in my wardrobe, and I think you guys might love them too...

1. DRESSY SHORTS - I love shorts! They are comfortable, easy to wear and they show off your legs. I especially like to wear them with blazers and cardigans. If your outfit looks this cute with a blazer or cardi, it's worth battling the sweat. You can find great shorts at Urban Outfitters, H&M and Ann Taylor Loft.

2. BOLD COLOR - Last winter I wrote about how much I love my bright red pants. Well, now I want skirts and pants in  every color of the rainbow. Don't you?! You can find this green skirt at Zara or splurge on these yellow pants at Tory Burch.

3. FLIRTY SKIRTS & DRESSES - Light and flirty skirts come back every year, and I never tire of them. They're feminine, cool and comfortable. Anthropologie has the best selection!

Pleated Skirts & Dresses

When I think about pleats ugly old man khakis and private school uniforms come to mind. However, this year I've started to see pleats in a whole new light.

Long, flowey pleated chiffon skirts, bright colored knee length skirts and origami pleated dresses have caught my attention.

Tell me, are you in love with pleats? Do you own any dresses or skirts? What are you pairing them with?

Fall Flowers

floralskirtBring your floral, summer dresses and skirts into fall by pairing them with cardigans, jackets, tights and booties. Add color to the ordinary fall colors of brown, black, purple and navy and avoid having to put more clothes into storage. Here are some of my pairings...
