Life's a bit crazy these days, and sometimes I have to remember that simplicity is best. The simple, tomboyish look below (pinned over 4000 times) is a perfect example of how sometimes less is more. The striped tee and jeans are comfortable and relaxed, but the sleek details of the watch and the patent leather oxfords pull the look together. This look also showcases the power of a simple red lip. A tiny pop of color like this really can go a long way. Grab the entire look below for under $130 and top it off with your favorite black blazer. Easy.
Pinterest is a treasure trove of inspiration. But, have you ever come across an outfit you loved, only to realize you have no idea where to buy it? Or, maybe the items are linked, but they're way out of your budget? Well, that's exactly why I'm introducing a new monthly feature: Pinterest Look for Less. I'll be taking some top performing style pins, and showing you how to recreate the same outfit for under $150.
First up, is this cozy fall ensemble, which has been pinned almost 400 times.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner - I have eaten yogurt for every meal, especially since I have been pregnant. It's almost as if I can't get enough dairy and calcium. Lately, I have been eating yogurt even for dessert thanks to Stonyfield Farm's latest creation Oh My Yog triple layer organic yogurt with cream and fruit at the bottom. MMMM! It's the prettiest yogurt I've ever eaten.
We all know that stripes are in style, and the color blocked, striped packaging drew me to this tasty treat. Yes, I'm known to buy just because of packaging. I'm a stylist. What can I say? haha. Then you take a bite and you realize this is the most on trend yogurt around with it's ombre color effect. To celebrate this stylish cup of heaven, I've partnered with Stonyfield Farm to share beautiful ombre and stripe inspiration on Pinterest. You can follow along with us here https://www.pinterest.com/alexandraevjen/stripes-ombre-oh-my-yog/.
My favorite flavors are Wild Quebec Blueberry, Pacific Coast Strawberry, Gingered Pear. I love adding granola to them or even crumbling up ginger cookies and putting them on top of my pear yogurt for dessert. You can find your next stylish dessert or breakfast at your local Whole Foods or Sprouts. Tell me which flavor is your favorite!

This outfit is my go-to standard - blazer, t-shirt, jeans and a necklace. You can't go wrong with this combination. No woman can! You can express your personality with pattern, color, accessories and adjust the silhouette of the jacket to accommodate your shape. The pattern that I added into the mix is stripes.
I don't think I'll ever get sick of stripes. It's the one print that I have a lot of in my closet, and I love how it breaks up the monotony of wearing solid colors. The stripes on this Lulu*s blazer (currently sold out) are especially great because they aren't too bold. The soft gray and white color mute the pattern keeping this jacket appropriate for a casual Friday at the office. (If you could use more tips on how to wear stripes well, check out this article I wrote for Ebay).
Boyfriend blazers work well for me because I'm very tall and lanky. I have long legs, and the length of this jacket gives the appearance of a longer torso. The shoulder pads also give me a wider frame, which helps me avoid looking like a string bean all of the time. If you wanted to disguise your hips this would also be a great shape to wear.
If there weren't enough reasons already for me to love this jacket, it's machine washable! Because it's cotton and unstructured, I don't have to worry about dry cleaning it. Wahoo!
I've mentioned before that I'm not much of an accessory person. I'll maybe wear one piece a jewelry a day, but sometimes I don't wear anything at all. This Gauge bubble letter necklace is a new favorite of mine that I haven't taken off since I got it from Alixandra Collections. I chose an 'E' for my last name and for Elle. It would be the perfect gift for a friend!

This fall you can expect to see an unusual amount of gray, brown and black. It seems that muted color palettes and neutrals are the colors of choice this season. Maybe a pop of oxblood here and there and definitely pops of navy mixed with black, but other than that you won't see too many bright colors.
In the past autumn seasons we've seen a lot of gem tones and sequins. I don't think they will be completely out of stores by any means, but the more fashion forward palettes will be simple. Fashion always has a way of turning 180 degrees from what has been popular.
This outfit features the cropped sweater trend I talked about yesterday and the simple fall color palette. Polkadots and stripes always go together in my book, so I really enjoy this fun pairing with my striped Agnes and Dora pencil skirt.
